How Can I Make My Orthotics More Comfortable?
It's pretty assured that new orthotics will be uncomfortable at first, but here are some things you can do to lessen the discomfort. Read this post t find out.

ToOrthotics are there to correct errors in how your feet operate, which could mean reshaping them or totally realigning their positioning. There is no doubt that this will be uncomfortable at first, but you should get used to them over time.
Here are some things that can help you along the way:
Allow the Break-In Period
Experts recommend easing yourself into a new pair of orthotics, breaking them in like you would normal shoes. In order to do this effectively, start out by only wearing them 2 or 3 times a day for about 30 minutes each. Aim to increase this time by 15-30 minutes each time until you can wear them throughout the day.
If your orthotics are too uncomfortable, allow your feet plenty of rest in between wearing them, especially in the beginning.
Never Make Home Alterations to Your Orthotics
Custom orthotics have been designed with your particular feet in mind and should not be altered as this can lead to further complications. If, after a month of use, you are still unable to wear them as per your podiatrist's recommendation, it can mean one of two things:
- You were incorrectly diagnosed.
- Your orthotics weren't manufactured properly.
If this is the case, the best course of action is to contact your podiatrist and inform them that your orthotics need adjustment, which they should be happy to do.
In addition, if you opted for a cheaper pair of premade orthotics and are experiencing pain after prolonged use, you have the wrong pair. Either invest in a different pair or consult a podiatrist for custom orthotics.
In Conclusion
Correcting foot conditions is a long-term battle that will inevitably need lots of tweaking. If your orthotics are uncomfortable after a month of use, allow your podiatrist the time to make the necessary alterations instead of looking for a fast solution with high risk.
