Anyone else torn between cheap insoles vs orthotics for foot pain?

My feet have been killing me after long shifts, and I’m stuck wondering if cheap insoles are enough or if I should go for orthotics. I don’t want to waste money, but I also don’t want to keep limping around. Curious what’s actually worked for people here.

I thought insoles would be enough but they wore down fast and didn’t solve the problem. Custom orthotics felt like they were made just for me. My foot pain started fading and even my posture feels better now. Definitely the better option if pain is constant. So that's my 2 cents, hope it helps.
