Do slip-in orthotic inserts for boots stay put?
Asked 9 months ago
I wear hiking boots almost every weekend and by the end of the trail my arches are sore. I’ve seen slip-in orthotic inserts for boots online but I’m worried they’ll shift around or feel bulky. Has anyone used them for long hikes and found them actually comfortable?

I had the same problem with my hiking boots. Slip-in inserts always seemed to move around or get bulky after a few miles, which made my feet sore. Most of the time they just don’t stay put, especially on longer hikes. What really helped me was trying custom orthotics that fit right into my boots. They give solid support and actually stay in place, so my feet don’t ache anymore. If regular slip-in inserts aren’t working for you, custom orthotics might be worth a try
