In recent years, CBD has gained greater market exposure. It is one of more than 100 active compounds found in the cannabis plant. Due to its potential health benefits, a variety of CBD products and treatments are now produced around the world.

The types of CBD products range from creams to oils, tinctures, and edibles. It is believed that the therapeutic effects of CBD help treat pain, reduce inflammation, improve healing, manage dermal issues, and improve anxiety.

There are also suggestions CBD cream is useful for treating heel pain associated with plantar fasciitis. But how does it treat this condition, and is it effective?

Common Treatments for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a major cause of heel pain. Fortunately, there are many home remedies and conservative approaches to plantar fasciitis treatment.

These treatments, including rest, NSAIDs, ice packs, activity modification, and weight loss are all helpful. Similarly, exercise (strengthening and stretching exercises), orthotics, and supportive footwear also help relieve symptoms.

If these methods do not ease the symptoms, treatments like splinting, steroid injections, shock wave therapy, and ultrasonic tissue repair may be considered.

How CBD Cream May Relieve Plantar Fasciitis Pain

More recently, there have been suggestions that CBD may relieve plantar fasciitis pain, with research findings supporting the claim that CBD can alleviate chronic pain. Types of chronic pain include neuropathic, cancer, and fibromyalgia pain and discomfort. Further studies have found that CBD can be used to reduce inflammation in addition to pain.

Consequently, it may be possible that CBD cream can relieve the pain associated with plantar fasciitis. This deduction is theoretical, however, as there is currently no large-scale research evidence to back this claim.

Whether this is the case or not, CBD cannot address the cause of plantar fasciitis. Hence, always consider combining the CBD cream with other treatment options like foot massages, exercise, and supportive footwear.
