Do running shoe inserts for flat feet help?

I was skeptical about custom orthotics but they honestly saved my training. Store-bought inserts only helped temporarily, while orthotics fixed my gait and eased strain. Took a couple of days to get used to, but now I can run longer and harder without worrying about foot pain or discomfort.
