When should I choose custom orthotics over cheaper over-the-counter insoles for my flat feet?
Asked 8 days ago
I have pain from my flat feet and want to know the difference between cheap store-bought insoles (like Superfeet) and expensive custom orthotics. Are custom orthotics worth the price, and can any insole actually "fix" flat feet, or do they just relieve the pain?

Custom orthotics are usually better than over-the-counter insoles for flat feet, especially if your flat feet cause pain or other issues like knee or back problems. Store-bought insoles can provide some cushioning and mild support, which might be enough if your flat feet don’t cause pain and are flexible. But custom orthotics are made specifically for your feet, giving precise support that helps stabilize your arch and improve how your whole body moves. While no insole can fully fix flat feet, custom orthotics give you the best chance to reduce pain, prevent your arch from getting worse, and improve alignment. Upstep makes custom orthotics that fit your exact foot shape and delivers them right to your door, so there's no need to see a specialist.
