Are insoles covered by HSA/FSA?
Asked 3 months ago
Has anyone had success using HSA/FSA funds for insoles prescribed for plantar fasciitis? I need new everyday insoles, but I’d rather not pay out of pocket if they qualify. I’ve used my account for bandages and meds before, but insoles feel like a gray area.

Yeah you can usually use your HSA or FSA for insoles but it sorta depends on the plan. Regular comfort insoles are hit or miss but custom orthotics are way easier to get covered since they count as medical stuff. Some people just buy them and submit the reciept and it goes through fine. Check your plan rules first so you dont get stuck paying out of pocket.
