Can a plantar plate tear heal by itself?
Asked 5 years ago
What would happen if I left the plantar plate tear to heal by itself without going to a podiatrist or surgery for it? Will it come right?

If it's small, a plantar plate tear can heal itself. Usually, the tears are graded 0-4 based on their severity. While 0 is a mere fiber stretch, 4 is a complete disruption. You need to visit a doctor to determine the severity and if it can self-heal.
