How can I correct my body's alignment?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there. I have heard that there are benefits that come with correcting your body's alignment which include better form during workouts and a reduction in lower back pain. Which exercises can I do to improve my posture?

First of all, alignment starts at the bodies point of contact with the floor. Addressing mis-alignment here will have a great overall effect on the rest of the body. People who have flat feet or reduced arch height notice an inward turn of the tibia bone in the lower leg. This eventually leads to knee pain, hip pain, and lower back pain due to unusual forces being placed through the lower leg complex. Orthotics or insoles can then be used to correct this. Stretching exercises for the lower leg and back to target tight areas can be done daily to aid you in this, as well as the introduction of orthotics/insoles into your shoes.
