Can I use a grounding mat with socks on?
Asked 4 years ago
Do I have to be barefoot for a grounding mat to work, or can I be wearing socks? If I do wear socks, will I still see the same benefits?

Yes, but skin-to-skin contact is preferable. Perspiration is produced by moisture from sweat glands in our feet (moisture and ions). Ions allow for conduction into the body through the fabric of the socks. As a result, the best socks to wear with grounding mats are those made of cotton or natural fibers. Individual physiology differs from person to person. Some people may take a little longer to get grounded in socks than they would if they were barefoot

You can wear socks on a ground mat, but for the best results it’s recommended that you be barefoot during this process. Perspiration while barefoot increases conduction directly to the earth and will improve. Wearing socks may hinder the connectivity with your foot, and the ground by the sweat, containing ions, taking a while to hydrate the socks in order to create effective condition. However, if you choose to wear socks during the grounding process, choosing socks made from cotton or natural fibers is best.
