Are earthing mats effective for foot pain?

Do earthing mats help with foot pain at all? Are grounding and earthing mats the same thing?

The main distinction between earthing and grounding mat is that "earthing" implies that the circuit is physically connected to the ground, which has a zero voltage potential (Earth). The circuit is not physically connected to ground in "Grounding," but its potential is zero in relation to other points. However, effectual benefits are almost similar.
Although evidence is limited about the benefits, research by the Journal of Inflammation published in the National Library of Medicine proposes that: grounding decreases foot pain and changes the number of the circulating neutrophils and lymphocytes, as well as circulating chemical factors linked to inflammation.
