How long does it take to straighten a hammer toe?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I have had a hammer toe for some time now and I think I'm ready to straighten it. Can you reverse a hammer toe without surgery? Either way, how long would the treatment take?

Hammertoes cannot straighten out without surgery, but you can prevent it from getting worse. Once bending has started, surgery is necessary to straighten the toe. It takes three to six weeks for healing to take place after surgery. During this time, the toe is held in a straight position with a wire or tape.
