Achilles Tendonitis: Is abnormal thickening of my heel tendon a sign?
Asked 2 years ago
I've been keeping an eye on my right-hand Achilles tendon, and I've noticed that it has been gradually growing thicker. I'm unsure if this is a normal occurrence that comes with age or if I should be concerned. Some days it seems to be swelling, but I haven't been experiencing much in terms of pain.

The abnormal thickening of the Achilles tendon at the heel may be a sign of non-insertional Achilles tendonitis. Swelling may also occur alongside. Although you do not have much pain, you should consult your healthcare provider (HCP). Your HCP will help you decide if it is Achilles tendonitis or if there is a cause of concern.
