Can I develop AT if I increase the intensity of my workout routine?

Asked 3 years ago

What are the chances of me developing Achilles tendonitis if I increase the intensity of my workout routine without giving my body time to adjust? I want to increase the number of reps I do and add in different activities, and I want to know what I should look out for in terms of bodily strain and how to avoid developing tendonitis.

A sudden increase in the duration and intensity of workouts or exercises can lead to Achilles tendonitis. If you plan to increase your reps, you can gradually ease your body into it. Additionally, you can prepare your body by warming up and stretching before commencing the workout routine.
