What is an abnormally painful heel area during a light workout a sign of?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I had a light workout today doing simple stretches, and my Achilles tendon is screaming at me. Could it be a sign of Achilles Tendonitis, or did I pull the muscle? There wasn't any popping noise, so I don't think I tore the tendon.

Any number of reasons could cause heel pain after stretching. Chief among these possible causes is Achilles tendonitis. It could occur because of improper technique during a workout or even inappropriate shoes. With rest, it should improve. However, if the pain persists, it is best to consult your healthcare provider.
