Can a cortisone shot reduce foot pain?
Asked 4 years ago
I have been battling with foot pain for months now and am looking at potential solutions to help combat this. Apparently, steroid injections are a sure-fire way to reduce the pain in my feet. Does anyone know if a cortisone shot can actually help with foot pain and inflammation?

Cortisone has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. You’ll get pain relief instantly or within 48 hours after your steroid foot injection. Additionally, do strengthening, soft tissue manipulation and stretching to reduce stress on your foot apparatus such as ligaments and muscles. However, for long-term pain relief, I would recommend custom orthotics to correct foot misalignment and spread pressure during activity to facilitate healing.
