Will I be able to walk after a cortisone shot in my foot?

Asked 4 years ago

I have an appointment for a cortisone shot in the morning, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to walk afterwards or if ill need to stay off my feet. I know that it is a very powerful anti-inflammatory, so I'm just worried about whether it will numb my foot so much that I won't be able to walk on it afterwards.

A cortisone shot in your foot is a safe and proven way to relieve pain. When administered with a local anesthetic, it numbs your feet slightly but not so much that you can't walk on them afterward. Nevertheless, plan to stay off any strenuous activity involving the limb for 48hours.
