Asked 3 years ago

Is it permanent or can it go away with time and treatment?

Well! If sesamoiditis is untreated and triggered longer period then permanent damage can be caused in the sesamoid bones in the feet. For mild cases of sesamoiditis resolve within a few days with the Rice method. (rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory medications)

Sesamoiditis will only cause permanent damage to your feet if left untreated for a long time. If you seek treatment as soon as possible, it can be managed and healed. In some cases, you may need to get surgery to have the sesamoid bone removed, in which case it will take 6 - 8 weeks t heal.
