Is heat good for shin splints?
Asked 4 years ago
Should I apply something like a hot water bottle to my legs if I have shin splints? Can the heat help with the pain?

No! Hot water bottle is not a good idea. Heat can make inflammation worse. Ice and cold therapy are recommended. Icing your shins multiple times in a day may help to reduce inflammation and pain. Follow the RICE method with stretching everyday and shin splints pain will go away.
