What types of shoes should I avoid if I have hammertoes?
Asked 2 years ago
I have had hammertoes for a year or so and I am looking for advice on what types of shoes to avoid. I want to make sure that I am not aggravating my condition by wearing the wrong shoes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It is suggested that shoes that are too tight or have a narrow toe box are to be avoided in order to not aggravate your hammertoes. High heels and unsupportive shoes can cause your condition to get worse. Shoes with a wide toe box are supportive and the addition of orthotics can benefit you greatly in managing your condition. Orthotics, exercises and a hammer toe brace will help you greatly in managing this condition.
