Can arthritis in the hip cause foot pain?
Asked 3 years ago
I've had arthritis in my fingers for years, and it eventually also began in my hip. I'm starting to feel my feet stiffen up and ache as well. Could this be new arthritis or due to arthritis in my hips?

Arthritis can wreak havoc on the hip joint’s function, as well as produce discomfort and stiffness, making it difficult to perform numerous daily tasks. It’s fairly typical to have arthritis in both hip joints, one for each leg. Arthritis that affects both hip joints at the same time is unusual. Usually, one hip joint is more painful than the other.
In men, foot discomfort was linked to hip pain on the same side. Bilateral foot discomfort was linked to hip pain on both sides, the same side, or the opposite side in women.
Hip arthritis is characterized by pain and stiffness in the hip joint. Joint abnormalities and leg-length disparities might occur as the condition progresses. Such abnormalities lead to faulty biomechanics. Faulty biomechanics result in improper gait and repeated micro-injury that eventually causes foot pain.
