How can I make my hard orthotics fit better in my shoe and easier to remove?
Asked 4 years ago
My orthotics are so hard to remove that after having had to take them out a few times in a row recently, my left shoe has lengthened! I've tried so many things to make it fit better- a spacer under the orthotic, 3 types of pads at the back. I'm welcoming any ideas because my right foot hurts with wearing them and then I can not tolerate the left shoe when I put them on.

If you have custom orthotics you can talk to the supplier about an adjustment. If you bought them over the counter, you could trim them. Check that you've taken out the shoe's original insoles and that they're intended for the type of shoe you're using. It could just take time for you to get used to them.
