How can I get rid of this bump on the back of my heel?
Asked 4 years ago
I have had a persistent bump on the back of my right heel for a couple of weeks now and I am not sure how to get rid of it. Is there anything I can do at home, or do I need to see some form of specialist?

Excessive pressure on the back of the heel, whicjh can be a result of wearing too tight or stiff shoes can lead to characterized by a bump on the heel of the foot. If you have extra stiffness in your Achilles tendon or a particularly high arch in your foot, you're more likely to acquire this ailment.
The goal of treatment is to relieve pain and reduce irritation in the heel, not to get rid of the bump. Treatments for Haglund's deformity symptoms include:
- Shoes with an open back
- Swelling can be reduced by icing the bump.
- Wearing orthotics in your shoes.
- Custom insoles or heel pads are worn to relieve pressure from shoes.
- Massage of the soft tissues
