What causes pain in the middle of my foot, under the arch?
Asked 8 months ago
My pain is specifically centered under the arch of my foot, not the heel or the ball of the foot, and it feels like a constant ache when I am standing. It gets worse when I push off or try to run. Is this still plantar fasciitis, or could it be a sprain or a different kind of injury in the middle of the foot?

Pain right under the middle of your foot, especially when you push off, usually points to a problem with the joints or ligaments in your midfoot, like a sprain or early arthritis. This is different from plantar fasciitis, which affects the heel area. Because the middle of your foot is key for support and balance, it’s important to stabilize it quickly to avoid making things worse. Custom orthotics can help by providing the exact support your arch needs and reducing pressure on the injured areas. Upstep can make these orthotics for you without a specialized visit and deliver them right to your door.
