How hard does the material of the orthotic need to be for plantar fasciitis?

Should it be rather hard to support the foot or soft for a cushion for relief? How do they differ from each other?

For plantar fasciitis, you should not choose a very hard orthotic because it might cause inconvenience. Given that it happens around the heel bone, it is best to go for a soft and flexible orthotic that would relieve your pain.
