Could the pain in my arches be caused by tight calves?
Asked 4 years ago
I exercise most mornings, but I usually am too busy to stretch properly afterward. Recently, there has been this throbbing pain and sometimes tingling feeling in the arches of my feet. I am wondering if this could potentially be caused by tightness in my calves?

Tight calves strain the Achilles tendon near its insertion into the heel, causing arch and foot pain. Consequently, the downward tension overloads the ankle joint, forcing it up during movement. The downward pressure then strains the tight calves further. Practice stretching exercises regularly to relieve the calf tightness.
