Do I need Orthotics after bunion surgery?
Asked 5 years ago
My feet still hurt a lot from the operation and I don't want to cause them any damage. Should I get a pair of orthotics or orthoses to help with my healing after bunion surgery?

After bunion surgery, your feet will need to be reevaluated for orthotics (it's common for foot size to change following the surgery). In the first 3-6 weeks after surgery you'll probably have a special shoe or cast, but once you are back to "normal" orthotics can help to maintain foot health for the future.
