Do I need to buy bigger shoes to fit my custom-made insoles in?
Asked 4 years ago
Do orthotics fit in all shoes? If not, do I need to buy new shoes to fit my new custom inserts, or can I make them fit?

Fortunately, you don't need to buy bigger shoes for your custom orthotics.
Over-the-counter insoles often come in generic sizes and need trimming to fit a particular shoe. But, if it's custom-designed, you can have it made to fit into multiple shoes. Sometimes, you may need to remove the original shoe inserts to accomplish this.
Upstep factors in the shoes you'll wear the custom orthotics in (as well as the shape of your foot). This means the insoles will fit perfectly into your existing shoe. Our podiatrists also design custom orthotics to fit multiple pairs of shoes.
This will save you money in the long run, as you won't have to buy new shoes or different orthotics for different shoes.

Well, it would depend on the type of orthotics. But generally, you buy shoes that would just fit perfectly, and you don't really need to buy bigger shoes. If the show is designed to fit well with custom made insoles then buying a bigger size is unnecessary. Else, certainly go for it for your own comfort.
