Can orthotics help my hallux limitus due to golf?

Asked 3 years ago

I suffer from terrible joint pain in my big toe, all because I love to play golf! And so it has become time to try and do something about it. But I'm not sure what. Have any of you tried orthotics? Are there any good results? What other methods can you suggest I try?

Due to too much pressure and range of motion while swinging in gold, hallux the limitus issue could happen. But yes, a high quality orthotics could help you get relieved from the pain of hallux limitus. Orthotics plays a support system, and eases the pressure from center of the toe while swinging. You can get suitable orthotics from Upstep according to your requirement.

Yes, hallux limitus orthotics prevent progression of condition to a more limiting and painful hallux rigidus. Custom hallux limitus insoles for golf are intended to limit first metatarsophalangeal joint motion while also providing cushioning and plantar pressure distribution. I’ll advice combination of orthotics, electrical modalities such ultrasound, soft tissue manipulation, basic stretching and strengthening exercises for better outcome. Also wear your hallux limitus insoles so that you don’t backtrack your progress
