Do cortisone shots hurt?

I am terrified of needles and I don't have a high pain tolerance. Has anyone had a cortisone shot before, and are they painful? Would someone with a low pain tolerance be able to handle it?

Following a cortisone shot, some people experience redness and warmth in their chest and face. A cortisone shot may temporarily raise your blood sugar levels if you have diabetes. .
