Do I need arch support as a flat-footed runner?

I have rather flat feet, but I have recently taken up running as a hobby. I am worried that I might injure myself and was wondering if I need arch support?

If you have flat feet that are flexible, then shoes that have arch support and not so super rigid or hard is going to be best choice. But if you have flat feet that are rigid and stiff, then look for a soft shoe that will provide comfort while striking the foot on the ground during your running.
