Can an MRI scan pick up Baxter's neuropathy?

Asked 4 years ago

I think I have a trapped nerve in my heel because there's this constant burning feeling, and I find it difficult to walk on my foot. Would I have to go in for an MRI scan?

Yes! Ultrasound or MRI can provide clues to the diagnosis in general. On the inside of the heel, you can sometimes notice the thickening of the little Baxter's nerve. Other times, a normal scan may raise your suspicions about nerve trapping as the cause of pain and burning sensation.
