What to do if my podiatrist gave me an orthotic that does not seem to cushion my sore spot in my heel?
My podiatrist gave me an orthotic that doesn't have a cushion under the sore spot in my heel. I feel like I’m walking on a hard part of the orthotic that helps the arch area. Anyone else have that? I think I need a bigger cushion.Asked 2 years ago

Is it normal to feel pain while breaking in custom insoles?
If the insoles are custom designed to my feet then surely I shouldn't be feeling any pain at all? Does it mean that they are poorly designed, or how long will it take to break them in?Asked 2 years ago

Would a surgery on my plantar plate tear and crossover toe that restructures my foot make the orthotics obsolete?
Hello everyone, I have a question for the specialists on here. I have some orthotics on order and I've already put a deposit down on them but I know it is a possibility that I will have to have surgery for my plantar plate tear and crossover toe in the next few months. Would surgery, which I suspect would restructure my foot, make the orthotics obsolete? I don't want to pay a lot of money for orthotics that wouldn't serve me after surgery. Thank you.Asked 2 years ago

Are custom orthotics worth the money when I have tendinitis near my arch and in the achilles area due to a metatarsal avulsion fracture?
Are custom-made orthotics worth the money? I go to a chiropractor for back/ foot adjustments weekly and he said that I may want to think about custom-made orthotics. Due to the fifth metatarsal avulsion fracture from three months ago, I now have tendinitis near my arch and achilles areas. I have extremely high arches so over the counter orthotics do not work for me. Apparently a lot of people who are born with high arches have problems, but that was never the case for me prior to my injury.Asked 2 years ago

What should I do if my insoles don't relieve the pain of flat feet with huge pronations?
Had persistent pain for a long time, got insoles that were supposed to help with the pain but I haven't noticed any change. Are certain insoles better than others? What should I do?Asked 2 years ago

Should I buy new insoles or new shoes?
Am I better buying some more insoles or buying some of the shoes people mention? I see oofos, Hokkas, brooks. I am so lost with what to buy and does anyone recommend others or insole types? Would I need to wear insoles inside any of these shoes? I have very high arches that have caused my plantar fasciitis on one of my feet. Could just cry everyday as its so painful, I can't walk on it and I am only 29 and I am in Australia Brisbane.Asked 2 years ago
