Why are my pain relief insoles not working?
I bought New Balance - pain relief insoles. Some days my feet hurt even with orthotics, and there are days they don't. I thought they're supposed to be worn all the time, is this wrong? I'm starting to worry that instead of orthotic insoles helping my problem, I might mess up my feet. Any suggestions?Asked 2 years ago

What needs to be the features of an old boot to put an insole in it (e.g. low heel, firm support, spacious toe box)?
Have been reading this page carefully and went out today to try to buy some vionic boots or similar as I am so tired of wearing my special deep trainers everywhere, and no big improvement wearing them anyway. Only one shop in our country's largest city, Auckland, stocks them. And those aren't in my size. I am wondering whether to take some of my old boots in to try out with an insole. Has anyone had success with that?Asked 2 years ago

Do you know any insoles that have just heel but no arch support?
I'm looking for an insole that has just a little bit of heel shock absorption. I have been unable to wear any insoles as my arch is super sensitive to pressure on the inside of my foot in front of the heel. I have purchased more than I should have and even the orthotics I have ordered I am completely unable to wear. I have a really high arch but don't need arch support - just heel support. Any ideas?Asked 2 years ago

How can I fix the problem of the insoles only helping the good foot, yet the bad foot hurts without them?
What can I do if I use insoles and it helps one foot (the good foot, which is now also starting to hurt) but makes the bad foot very sore? And if I don’t wear them it hurts my good foot but makes my bad foot feel slightly better. I suppose the solution would be to wear an insole for the good foot and not the bad, but that doesn’t sound a good idea because my feet wouldn’t be balanced? I hate this condition! Not being about to walk without pain, even for a short time, is frighteningAsked 2 years ago

What should I do if my old orthotics quit working and the new ones are awful?
Hello, I have worn orthotics for years and a couple of years ago they just quit working, had new ones made, and no difference. Quality of life is very bad and trying to work is just miserable. Any suggestions please.Asked 2 years ago

Are Custom Orthotics effective for Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome?
My first visit to physio today after suffering on and off from shin splints for the last 18 months as a runner. Been running for around 12 years. Diagnosed as Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome. Lots of scar tissue but no fractures luckily. Recommended custom orthotics for low arches. Exercise plan and intensive massage twice a week along shins to break down scar tissue. Together with 10 days of ibuprofen and no running at present. Anyone else had custom orthotics or been in a similar situation? Asked 2 years ago

Which orthotics do you recommend for my 4-year-old son with flat feet and pronation?
He was referred to a physiotherapist when he was toe walking and again when he turned 3 for fallen arches. I have been told to just watch his feet that it will fix itself, but I find that hard to believe. All his shoes are bent to the side because of this problem. Any advice will be very appreciated, and I will be very grateful if I can get recommendations of what orthotics to buy in the UK.Asked 2 years ago

Should I continue wearing orthotics even though they haven't improved my shin splints?
Any advice on healing and preventing shin splints? I cannot walk moderate/fast pace for exercise without always getting shin splints. Got custom orthotics made and have used them for over a month and they haven't caused any issues or improvements. I just want to be active again without pain. I am 5 months post severe sprain and that still causes issues.Asked 2 years ago

How can I make my hard orthotics fit better in my shoe and easier to remove?
My orthotics are so hard to remove that after having had to take them out a few times in a row recently, my left shoe has lengthened! I've tried so many things to make it fit better- a spacer under the orthotic, 3 types of pads at the back. I'm welcoming any ideas because my right foot hurts with wearing them and then I can not tolerate the left shoe when I put them on.Asked 2 years ago
